Training Option New – Passport to Innovation (TM)
It’s not as if you can wave a magic wand and creativity appears in the workplace, though it would be nice, eh? The systems in place, and the dynamics of internal politics influence the expression and spirit of creative thinking in organizations..
We know, and you know, that one-day workshops to learn skills are going the way of the dinosaur because they don’t work at transferring the desired skill to the workplace. creativityland inc developed Passport to Innovation(TM)(PTI) about 10 years ago – as a program to influence incremental culture change to make innovation happen regularly. PTI is a management training program that marries creativity and innovation research with skill building, action learning (aka trials) and coaching that reaches throughout the organization from ground up. Fred Forster, president and CEO of Media Agency of the Year PHD Canada, says that PTI, more than anything else, defined his agency with regards to the creative work they do.
Everyone wins in PTI because as the leaders involved learn new skills, they practice them with their associates to advance the business. The leaders involved learn how to adjust their behaviour to engage creative thinking for innovation, how to encourage and support people to generate new ideas and carry out new decisions, and how to use a variety of creativity thinking tools and innovation methods to advance the business agenda. As they learn together they develop as innovation professionals. They build communities of collaboration, relearn how to value risk taking, set up new relationships, and walk the talk of leveraging creativity. Engagement levels rise through the ranks as the program ensues. It’s amazing.
We’re proud of PTI and would be happy to share our Passport to Innovation stories with you. Feel free to get in touch for a conversation.
